Westcotes Flooring were chosen by Main Contractor Bowmer & Kirkland to be one of the preferred flooring contractors to supply and install the flooring on multiple education projects.
The £8bn school building framework wa s divided into lots by region and project value. The framework is to support the delivery of the ESFA school building programme . Multiple manufacturers and finishes were used throughout the scheme depending on the project specification. Some of the projects featured Safetred Universal for the resilient safety flooring, a classic safety floor solution for any area that presents a risk of slips or falls. An anti slip grip provides a high level of protection , whilst its reinforced surface protects against stains and eases maintenance. The circulation areas were generally installed in one of the Tarkett homogenous ranges, designed for heavy traffic applications it was a perfect solution for areas where both hygiene and resistance was a key factor. Many of the classroom areas featured carpet tiles, such as Burmatex Tivoli, a heavy contract durable tile made from 100% solution dyed nylon. The designs within the ‘ Tivoli ‘ range present schemes which use changing colour and style, enhancing the potential design possibilities presented by the introduction of new colours which was perfect for the education sector.
